Where do you want to spend your next vacation? At the pool, on a mountain or maybe in a tree house?
With the trend of tiny houses and modular houses, tree houses are also celebrating their comeback - whether as modular parts to build yourself in the garden or as a finished holiday home in the middle of a forest. The tree house hostel in Witzenhausen is located directly at one of the most beautiful castles in Hesse: Berlepsch Castle. There are numerous idyllic hiking trails and pure nature here. You can rent here either in a tree house, a stilt tree house or a tree house ball. The so-called tree nests can be reached via stairs and suspension bridges at an airy height of seven meters.

In addition to the tree houses, there is also a forest bar: breakfast and coffee and cake are offered here on weekends. In the evening, bread is often made in front of the campfire. However, if you feel like dining like a king, you can reserve a table at Berlepsch Castle. At the moment, a natural spa is also being planned, which should complete the "tree house village".

The Tree Palace in Rosenheim, Baden-Württemberg

The Tree Palace in Rosenheim is, according to its own statement, the first tree house hotel of this kind in Baden-Württemberg.
Photo: Tree Palace
The tree house hotel has a total of seven tree houses with 29 beds and is open all year round. Since it is located directly on the Franconian-Swabian Jakobsweg, you can explore many hiking trails here or go for a swim in one of the three swimming ponds near the complex. Pet owners will be happy: Dogs and cats are welcome guests here! What should you bring along? According to the operator, the following: "No bed linen or towels, but your partner, slippers, flashlight, pocket knife, a good book and a bottle of red wine."
That sounds very romantic. In general, today's trend, which has since sprung up from glamping, leads back to the original and the closeness to nature - no wonder that tree house hotels are very popular.
