Video: Make door stoppers yourself from scraps of fabric

Doing a door stop yourself is a creative idea that can be implemented in just a few steps. Read here what you need for this. Have fun implementing it!
Who does not know it? You want to ventilate at home, but the doors keep slamming due to the draft that is created. If you want to prevent this, sooner or later you need a door stop. If the usual models look too boring, you can easily make one out of fabric yourself.
Required material
- Remnants of fabric (roof parts, walls, floor each approx. 20 cm long; gable wall each approx. 13 cm wide)
- Border (approx. 70 cm)
- Iron-on flowers
- green thread (for the flower stems)
- Vliesofix, blue band (approx. 20 cm)
- Stencils (see below), fleece line, cotton wool, bird sand, funnel, felt pen.
- Template gable wall
- Side wall template
- Template floor
- Template roof
- Template on one sheet (to enlarge)
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: cut shapes
Print out the templates - the side length of the house is approximately 20 centimeters. Next, the fabric for walls, roof and floor needs to be reinforced with Vlieseline. Then the templates are recorded and cut out. Then transfer the stencils for the window, door and gable triangles to fabric, iron on the double-sided adhesive fleece fix and cut out the shapes as well. For the gutter, two pieces of border with about 20 centimeters and two with about 12.5 centimeters are cut.

Draw the stencils on the fabric and then cut out the shapes.

Step 2: iron on details
Next, iron windows and doors on the house walls. Push the short braid under the gable triangles, it is simply ironed on.

Now iron the details.

Step 3: decorate walls
Now it's time to beautify the house. For example, border the windows with a zigzag stitch. Quilt handles and flower stems and iron flowers on the stems.

Decorate the walls as you like.

Step 4: sew together
Now insert the long borders between the roof and side panels and stitch them. All individual parts of the house are then sewn together from the bottom to the left. Fold the blue ribbon for the chimney, slide it inwards about 7 centimeters at the roof edge and then sew the edge up. You should sew on the floor except for a small opening at the bottom and then put the house on the right.

The individual parts of the house are sewn together from the bottom to the left.

Step 5: stuffing
Through the opening, you can stuff the house with the cotton wool and fill with bird sand until it is heavy enough to hold a door. Finally sew the opening by hand.

Fill the house with bird sand through the opening.
