Video: Singer Sasha: My dream house is a bungalow
In a residential interview, the successful singer Sasha tells us how he lives, what his dream house looks like and whether he can do it himself.
Sasha is one of the most successful pop musicians in Germany. He made his breakthrough in 1998 with the song "I'm Still Waitin '". Since 2002 he has also been known as "Dick Brave and the Backbeats" and has published two rockabilly albums under this pseudonym. Sasha's current work "Schlüsselkind" was released in April 2018. It is the first time he sings in German. He lives in an apartment in Hamburg with his wife Julia.
What style of furnishing do you live?
Comfortable and stylish, I would sum it up. With earthy colors and bright art.
Do you have a favorite place at home?
Definitely our sofa: large and incredibly cozy - perfect for series evenings.
What was your biggest home purchase?
We recently selected an incredibly beautiful kitchen for our new apartment. We look forward to finally inaugurating them.
Which of your furniture is embarrassing for you?
In the meantime everything is actually fine, but during my time in the shared flat I slept for a long time on a mattress that was on Euro pallets. It may sound cool, but sometimes you want a real bed.
Which piece of furniture could you never part with?
I treated myself to a really great bed that is supposed to last forever. I'm trying to see if that's really true.
Do you have a special relationship with a piece of furniture?
There is a cactus that my mother had when I was very young … And although I definitely do not have a green thumb, he has survived all malicious attacks on his life and is in excellent health. I will probably pass it on.
Which do-it-yourself qualities do you have?
Caught! Admittedly, they are very limited: drilling, doweling, hanging a shelf or building up an Ikea piece of furniture - I can do that, but there is not much else I can get.
Do you describe your dream home?
It is a good size and more cubic than a bungalow. It also has bright rooms, lots of green around it and a view into the distance.
