Do-it-yourself is a trend. But who can proudly say that they built their kitchen or dining table themselves? With professional help and a workshop, even demanding projects can be carried out.

As a carpenter, you get a stack of boards in the morning and see a glued tabletop a few hours later. This has a strong fascination for many laypeople. You would prefer to saw, plan and glue yourself instead of answering e-mails or editing boring Excel lists.

Every tree grows differently, the grain is never the same. This has to be considered when building and processing. During processing, you can feel that the wood is alive. The Münster master carpenter Karsten Schillings offers workshops for self-carpentry. With him you can build your dream furniture or, in a weekend course, build your own personal cutting board. Schillings accompanies his "apprentices" from the first idea to the finished piece.

Own work

There are 259 open workshops in Germany. Under professional guidance from trained craftsmen, you can implement your own ideas and furniture requests. In order to be able to work with the large machines, an introductory machine course is mandatory in many workshops. And after that you can start.

To build

The bird feeder for the balcony, a sideboard, the metal frame for the side table or a dining table - depending on the equipment, these things are not a problem. The employees help you with the implementation and reveal your tricks.
