Hardly anything is more annoying and expensive than missed opportunities. Builders who do not at least prepare a future roof extension do not save money, but lose money - in the future. And modernizers who do not use the roofing scaffolding to paint the facade or install insulation in the same train are allowed to have one built again in three years - only for the painter. So it is wise to take the electrical and installation lines up into the roof structure and install windows when building, even if you do not need the roof space for the time being. Removal later, already made easy today, avoiding dirt, saving a lot of money! We can prepare ourselves for the electro-mobile future in a similarly clever way today, even if there is still no electric car on our wish list. Because there are enough opportunities to create individual preconditions for the major course step by step. And, incidentally, casually along the lines of: "If we are already there …" The prices of the vehicles and the expansion of the public charging station networks may not convince at the moment - we can do our part very well.

You want a solar storage?

Maybe you have been using photovoltaics for a long time according to the feed-in model: your solar electricity flows into the grid, from which you in turn obtain electricity. And now that the storage models become affordable, you want to switch to using your own electricity directly. Wouldn't it be a good idea to think about communication with the car battery that will be added later when buying a house battery? The two memories can then exchange (bidirectionally) and flexibly cover the need.

If one purchase can be combined with another effort, this not only saves money, but also planning work, dirt, noise and nerves. Imagine that someday you will drive your new electric car to the parking space at home - and everything would be ready there.

Photovoltaics on the roof?

It is only a matter of time - at some point every home owner will have to decide to equip their property with photovoltaics. And before the question of how to dimension the system. In principle, the effort to assemble them is always similar: opening the roof, assembling the bracket … So why not let the planner calculate so that a future electric car can be supplied with ease? The additional investment at the moment is small. And later, nobody gymnastically roams on the roof.

Finally your own garage?

Gasoline engines also get wet. And for years you get annoyed - until the decision is made (and the building authorities approve it): Now we can afford a garage, a carport. But: without light? Without automatic gate? Well, if power cables are already being laid, you could provide a wall box. But will these charging stations still look like they will in three years? Well, then we have at least one cable run laid. Talk to the electrician who will advise you well. Better than knocking slots when the electric car is at the door.

Work on the electrical system?

Have you managed to find a craftsman who has time for you? Congratulation! Renew old lines, set modern boxes, install RCD protection, install burglar protection - no matter what he does, don't leave it out without discussing with him what can be done to integrate the electric car that you have in the foreseeable future want to grow. Is the classic installation enough? Would it make sense to provide smart cables for bi-directional operation between vehicle storage, house storage and the public power grid?

Excavator in the garden?

At some point you get tired of improvising on the terrace, in the garden, between the front door and the yard gate. An excavator is needed to dig trenches to lay pipes in frost-free depths: water pipes for the pond and garden fittings, sewage from the garden shed, electrical cables for outdoor lights and bells, security and intercom on the street. Wouldn't it be dramatic to forget cable routing to the parking lot and garage? In the meantime, it can feed the e-bike and the battery of the lawnmower - until a wall box is attached later.
