Video: Replace bathtub step by step

Replacing the bathtub is not too difficult with the right instructions. Here you can find out how to replace your bathtub step by step.
To replace the bathtub, you first have to do some preliminary work or stop the water. Turn off the water supply and let all remaining water flow out of the pipe. If the fitting sits directly on the edge of the tub, remove it.
To dismantle the old tub, break out the brick substructure with a hammer and chisel and remove the siphon, drain and overflow. In older bathtubs, the strainer is often screwed on from above - in this case, crumple up newsprint and stuff it into the sewage pipe. If you don't do this, crumbs of mortar can crumble into it. Then remove the ground wire - don't worry, it's safe. Finally, loosen the elastic joint on the tub edge with a cutter.
For the installation, place the new tub, align it with a spirit level and mount the waste water set. For metal trays, an earth wire must be connected by the electrician, no wire is required for plastic trays. So that the tub can sink into the rigid foam substructure, fill it up and sit down. Then you can grout the tub edge.

The subtleties
If the bathtub is firmly anchored in place, attach the strainer and seals and fill the joint between the wall and the tub.
Outflow
Position the strainer and seals. Tighten the lock nut - it presses the parts together on the opening.
