DIY idea 1: spring in cans for the balcony
Give old cans a second spring! Simply paint them in different pastel colors and let them dry well. Then label or stamp small paper signs with the letters of the word "spring" and tie them around the painted cans with a white thread. Now put in small plants as you wish, for example chamomile or primroses.

DIY idea 2: leek meets spring flowers on the balcony
Young vegetables love distinctive flowers - a tête-à-tête that whets the appetite for light spring cuisine! Along with the spring onions are white ranunculus and all kinds of tulips that peek out from the center of the vase. That's how it's done:
- You need a plate, a straight vase, thin leeks, white flowers, rubber and sisal ribbon and scissors.
- Put a sturdy rubber band over the glass and put the spring onions close behind, i.e. between rubber and glass.
- Wrap the rubber several times with sisal tape, tie it into a bow and fill the vase with water. Then the early bloomers can move into the glass.

DIY idea 3: Spring flowers for the balcony
Send a flowery message to the guests on your balcony: "Thank you for being there!" Or "Welcome!". You can do this with horn violets in a glass jar in a very charming way: Simply put some soil on the bottom of a tall glass, put the plant in and attach a greeting card with the lettering of your choice at the top.

DIY idea 4: decorate tone-on-tone
Something different than simply planting the hyacinths in a pot: Arrange them in an old wooden box. A nice addition: a porcelain bowl with tone-on-tone primroses - and of course the obligatory nest before Easter. Warning: Please do not remove any real bird's nest from the previous year from its place in the garden, because this will probably be used again.

DIY idea 5: There is always enough space for the spring decoration
For the design with balcony plants, it does not always have to be boxes. Simply place the spring decoration on the floor or DIY shelves that you have built yourself. Combine flowers, candles and decorative elements to your taste. You can mix the materials and colors of the pots as you wish. Arrange small container plants in the foreground, while larger ones should step into the background.

With flower pots you not only embellish tables and window sills, but also self-made wall shelves.

DIY idea 6: spring awakening in the balcony box
As a rule, balcony boxes gain our attention primarily from the plants that grow in them - here, for example, tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, muscari and bellis. In this example, the box itself is a real eye-catcher, as it was individually embellished with a lettering. Let your imagination run wild! Tip: Don't forget the coasters so that there is no waterlogging.

DIY idea 7: revamped
Unusual and comfortable: balcony furniture gets a very individual look if you decorate it with colored cushions in your favorite colors. To create a harmonious overall picture, choose small decorative elements and balcony flowers from the same color palette.

DIY idea 8: Shabby-chic chest as a planter
Build your own decorative elements yourself, for example a decorative wooden chest in shabby chic. Here it serves as a planter and eye-catcher in one. The highlight: the old lattice window as a cover.

Smart idea to showcase your favorite plants perfectly.
