As you know, right now you need an extension to use Chromecast in Google Chrome but this is going to end since from now on Chromecast will come integrated. So we'll show you how to use Chromecast in Chrome without the extension.
Although the integration will take place officially in the next versions of Google Chrome, from now on you can activate this option in tests while waiting for it to be enabled in the future.
Feature in beta
This functionality is possible activate it from the Google Chrome experiments menu, a page that brings together all kinds of functions that can or cannot be activate and that in some cases can cause problems with the operation of the browser if we touch something that we do not know what it is for.
To activate the functionality “Multimedia Router”, which is what we are interested in and which in the future will be a native Google option Chrome, do the following:
- In the address bar of Google Chrome, where you type the address of the web page you want to access, type the following: chrome://flags/

As you can see, a warning pops up alerting you to be careful if you enable or touch these experimental functions due to possible future problems.
- Press Ctrl + F to do a word search and type “router”. You will see that there is an option called “Enable multimedia router” that is disabled by default and is that we are interested in activating it to use Chromecast in Google Chrome without the already mentioned extension.

Just tap on the word “enable” and then tap the restart now button to restart Google Chrome with the functionality already enabled

In this way you will be able to use Chromecast in the Google browser without having to install an extension. You will see that the Chromecast icon appears in the upper right part where the other extensions are. If you see that it fails you can perform the steps again and disable the functionality.
