If it appears in your application, it will mean that you are one of the users awarded with that lifetime account and therefore you will never pay again for using WhatsApp.
It would be a kind of thanking the user for using WhatsApp, although we don't know for what specific reason the application could give away these activations for life. It would be available for all mobile platforms where WhatsApp can be used (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, etc.).
