Windows 10 is the best operating system created to date by Microsoft. The hard work of the company and the Insider Community is noticeable in every detail of this operating system, but it has not convinced all users, since there are still many who continue to use Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Do you want to remove the update notification to Windows 10?
Yes, Microsoft has gone a bit "heavy" with upgrading to Windows 10. The truth is that it is a very good operating system, with a lot of new features and thatbrings with it the latest security and performance enhancements , but not all users like it.
If you prefer a classic Windows 7 or Windows 8, you probably want to eliminate that annoying notification to update to the latest version from the operative created by the Redmond tech giant, so let's see how you can do it:
Option a) (remove update)
Like almost everything in Windows, the Windows 10 upgrade notification goes through an update. This one in particular is about KB3035583, so we can look for it and remove it from the root or not install it, doing the following:
1. We will navigate to the Control Panel window > System and Security > Windows Update.
two. Once there we will look for the new updates and, when the list with all the available ones appears, we will click on the option "Show all the available updates".
3. We will look for the KB3035583 update, right click on it and select "Hide update".
With this we will eliminate the possibility of installing it by mistake and that it continues bothering us.
Option b) (Delete icon only)
An also interesting option, but a little more complex, is to keep the update installed but remove the icon with the notification from the taskbar. To do the latter we will have to follow the following steps:
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following path:
two. We right click on the Setup.exe, press Properties and Security. At that point we will select "Advanced options", followed by "Change permissions".
3. We will remove all permissions except our user.
As you can see, both options are equally effective, although the most interesting will surely be the first one, which eliminates the root of the problem and It saves us future problems if we want to install the update.
Reversing either of the two is easy, we just have to do the reverse process to the steps followed.
