A new scam is circulating through email, promising a 500 euro Amazon gift card. For responding to a survey we would receive neither more nor less than a gift card in the well-known shopping portal.
The truth is that the objective of the survey is to obtain our personal data and, of course, at no time will we receive the credit card gift of 500 euros for Amazon.
As we have been able to verify, the email itself contains several spelling mistakes, something not very formal, in addition to impersonating a "Customer Service - Gift Card Department".
If we click on the links we will go through two simple surveys with three questions, which will take us to a form wherewe are asked for all our personal information , including address. In addition, it will tell us that we are selected, like everyone else.
Also, when looking at the conditions they assure that it is a raffle of 8,000 euros before a notary and the final date to participate varies according to the text itself.
In short, we are talking about a scam that arrives as fraudulent mail to obtain our personal data. Likewise, we do not rule out that there may be malware in some of the links or that they later send us more fraudulent emails that could endanger our equipment and our personal data, obviously.
Thus, if we see an email with subject "A €500 gift card for you to use on AMAZON" or similar, the best we can do is directly delete it and send it to spam. Let's not fall into the trap by clicking the links or responding to them.
