Sometimes it happens that a person becomes annoying, their opinions on Facebook are boring or you are no longer interested in them having access to your publications. So we're going to teach you how to take a breather from someone on Facebook.
The first options are change the status of your sentimental situation (if you were a couple and no longer or if the other person is looking to have a relationship with you). You can change it to "single" or "divorced" in the first case, or "in a relationship" in the second case. Below we explain step by step some options to take a break from someone on Facebook.
- The first thing you should do is go to the Facebook profile of the person you want to take a break from.
- Once in their profile, click on the icon of three horizontal dots at the top right, on the main photo and next to the word message:

A tab will be displayed with different Facebook options. The last one is the one you should choose: "Block"

- A window appears in which Facebook asks if you really want to block that person, and lists a series of activities you can no longer do:
See what you post on your timeline
Tag you
Invite you to events or groups
Start a conversation with you
Add you to their friends list
But Facebook offers you a less drastic action, like giving yourself a breather or taking a break from that person, to limit what you share with that person. If the decision to block your friend is not final, do not click "Continue." We recommend you do it in "Give yourself a break" / "Take a break"

- A new window will appear like the previous one, larger, in which Facebook gives you three options to select. In the line "See a person less", Facebook gives you even more options, with the aim that in your section of news do not show their posts or in which they tag you.
The system will also skip asking if you want to send her a message or tag her in a photo. If one day you think that the distance was enough, you can follow that person again.
In "View options" you can choose between "Limit the places where you see that person", "Remove from the list of contacts" and "Block that person". These last two options will always appear.

- In the line "Limit what that person sees", you can choose the option that none of your publications appear in their news list. By choosing this option the person will be added to your list of people with restricted access.

- In the "Edit who can see previous posts" line, Facebook will let you decide which people will continue to see everything you allowed them to see beforeand you will not be untagged from any posts.
Here you can also choose to "Keep all posts as is", "Edit individual posts", or "Edit all your posts and the ones you're tagged in". Depending on the decision you make, you can save yourself some inconvenience.

Click "Save" and that's it. You gave yourself a break
This feature is currently only available on the desktop version of Facebook. It does not appear among the application options for mobile devices.
Take into account that over time you can resume contact with that person or block them permanently. Taking a breather from someone on Facebook gives you time to think and analyze how you want your relationship with that person to develop.
