After launching our newly purchased computer, or after performing a format and clean installation of Windows 10, the first thing we want to do is customize the operating system with the desired configuration and appearance. However, one of the most frequent questions we can ask ourselves is how to display the Computer icon on the Windows 10 desktop, since it does not appear by default unlike others like Trash.
To display the Computer icon on the Windows 10 desktop we will have to go to the system configuration options, where we will find a section in which we can select exactly which icons we will see on our desktop. To get to this section we have several options although the result will be the same.
The first option is click on the Windows 10 Start menu, and click on the gear icon that will take us to the system configuration options. From here, we will access the personalization category, and once inside the list of sections on the left, we will enter "Themes", and finally we will click on the text highlighted with our accent color "Desktop Icon Settings" in the right part.
We can also do right-click on the desktop, and choose the option "Personalization", which will directly take us to this category of the system configuration section, avoiding having to go through the above process. From here, we will simply enter "Themes" and click on the same text that you mentioned to change the desktop icon settings.
If we only want to show the Desktop icon, check its corresponding box and click OK. The icon or icons that we have marked on the desktop will automatically appear, although perhaps if we do not have Windows 10 activated we will find a problem that will be solved with its activation.
Now you know how to display the Computer icon on the Windows 10 desktop, although you will surely find other elements that you would like to be able to customize such as the notification area, install themes on your device, and even set the device to change the wallpaper automatically.
