WhatsApp is the most widely used messaging service in the world, now taking advantage of the fact that we have just started a new year, let's see what news awaits us in WhatsApp throughout 2020.
WhatsApp is a messaging service that has evolved a lot since its inception. 2020 is a year in which we will see several new integrations in the service, among them it is possible to find the worst news for users who have been using the service for a long time, such as publicidad
WhatsApp has started 2020 by eliminating support for old phones, whose users represented a tiny number compared to the rest, but this represents a change for the better since the newer our smartphone is, the better it will work at general level and it is possible to venture to introduce novelties incompatible with certain versions of the operating system both Android and iOS.
Messages that self-destruct
One of the main novelties would be related precisely to messages, with the arrival of this novelty we could determine the time we want a message to be available, so that WhatsApp self-destructs the message and can only be consulted in a limited way.
The arrival of these messages could make a lot of sense in groups where only the group's administrator could send them. We do not know when they will arrive but what is very likely is that we will see them throughout this year. The interval we count to self-destruct messages will be between 1 hour and one year.
Add contacts via QR
QR codes are the easiest way to obtain and transfer a little bit of informationsuch as a WiFi network or even our phone number. Although it is true that some manufacturers already include in their customization layer the option to share a contact through a QR code, WhatsApp could include it throughout 2020.
This initiative was started by Snapchat a long time ago, so we are not dealing with a really new function, although in said social network It was very useful especially when meeting new people at a party without having to look up their username or in this case, to write down their phone number.
We must bear in mind that to scan the person's QR code, we must physically meet in the same place.
Fight against fake news
When opening Instagram or WhatsApp we will have noticed that now the Facebook logo appears at the bottom, that is why, Therefore, Facebook is in the process of unifying functions so that each of them can be found in all services, even though they are social networks with different uses.
Now then, Instagram is a social network that has begun to fight against “fake news” or false news through its app. It does not delete the content, but to view the fake news on Instagram before a warning appears that it is false information.
WhatsApp is probably the social network through which most false news is shared, so WhatsApp's plans would include analysis of images and documents in order to fight against them, although we will see how they carry it out so that the user's privacy is not compromised.
Every time we receive a link from a website, WhatsApp opens a browser by default,so it doesn't have no proprietary browser included in the application.
As we can see, WhatsApp is struggling to be an increasingly complete service so as not to have to depend on any other app as it would be the browser case. These types of browsers are already available in some other application such as Telegram.
Play audio without opening the app
Audios are one of the most important methods when talking on WhatsApp since there are many users who use them almost constantly. Some time ago WhatsApp already included the possibility of viewing an image without having to enter the chat but through the notification bar.
Now, WhatsApp would do something very similar, being able to play incoming audio from the notification bar. Currently we can read and reply to messages through from the notification bar and this would be the next step on Android since playing the audio from the notification bar is not possible on Android but it is on iOS.
Adding filters or even creating animations up to 7 seconds would be some of the new features that would come to WhatsApp. It is probably a more complete editor than the one we currently have so that in this way we can enjoy it both when sending photos and when uploading states.
Probably the main novelty at a visual level comes with the dark mode, despite the fact that dark mode can already be activated in WhatsApp using tricks, it is not yet available on WhatsApp.
For the end we wanted to leave probably the inclusion that can bring the most controversy, such as the inclusion of ads and advertising within WhatsAppAlthough it had been rumored for some time, it would be almost confirmed that throughout 2020 Facebook would begin to make the purchase of WhatsApp profitable.
The ads would be in WhatsApp States, just like Instagram Stories, so it would not be intrusive advertising, but something more hidden that we usually see in third-party applications.
These are the most anticipated news of the year as far as WhatsApp is concerned, although hopefully it will surprise us with some other unexpected news.
What do you think? What is the one you like?
