The Specter x360 has a very high level of finishes and details Despite its small size, it is robust, with an obvious care in every detail of the finish such as, for example, the chamfered shape on some edges where the screen connects or some genuine quality hinges.

The material chosen by HP for this Specter x360 is aluminum, with a matte color in which it is difficult to leave any traces marked.

The weight is somewhat higher than we expected, but without being excessive (approximately 1.3 kilograms).

As we have told you before, the care for details is a constant in the design of the HP Specter x360 since in order not to have to give up equipping a USB type A what they have done is put one with retractable opening, something that allows having this type of port on such a thin laptop.

This system is original, but when removing the flash drive it gets stuck easily and you have to be careful not to force it.

The screen makes a difference

The first thing we need to know is that we are dealing with a screen that turns completely over the keyboard to become a tablet. This system works really well, without any incident that we should tell you about since the hinges and the thinness of the screen also help.

The side and top frames are extremely well achieved, while the bottom one, despite being wider, also has adjusted dimensions.

Display is a 13.3-inch LCD IPS WLED BrigtView panel with a 4K resolution(3840 x 2160 pixels).

The panel is a glossy type with an anti-reflective coating (which works fairly well), with a resolution that allows for really good colors, with a brightness that is at a very good level and with a level of detail that we liked a lot

The viewing angles are good. Being a convertible, this section becomes more important if possible since, by being able to place it in various positions, the display of the screen will be good at all times.

In addition, as a good convertible, comes with a touch screen (primary if we put the tablet mode). We have no objection in this regard since everything works correctly, including the two available software modes, laptop and tablet, so that we can decide which one to use at any time.

As for the sound, we are going to confess that we have been a little disappointed and even more so when we know that it is signed by Bang & Olufsen. Probably because of the compact design, the designers were forced to put the speakers on the sides on the bottom.

In this position the volume is too low. The quality is good, with good bass and body, but since the speakers are in that situation, the sound is not entirely clear and the shutter is very noticeable.

Good keyboard experience

The keyboard was one of the parts where we were most reluctant to be so small. Well, after a few weeks of use, we have gotten used to the fact that some keys are out of place compared to traditional keyboards.

The keyboard is backlit with two levels of intensity, the touch is very good and, above all, it isvery quiet in use.

Another thing is the touchpad, here the experience differs slightly since it is too flattened for our liking, although its touch is good and the level of pulsation is quite spongy.

In daily tasks, the laptop has plenty of power. Once we run photo or video editing programs, the performance is still at a very good level.

Both in video editing and running games with a lot of graphic content, the Iris Plus GPU is reinforced, especially if we compare it with the UHD 620 Graphics, which is the integrated one that a good number of of laptops today.

The 1TB SSD achieved a read speed of 3,280 MB/s and write speed of 2,398 MB/s, results that show us the good work of the SSD manufactured by Samsung.

In the Specter x360 we have Windows Hello, the facial recognition system that will allow us to unlock the HP using our face thanks to the webcam located above the screen and the biometric sensors that are incorporated on each side of the webcam.

We really liked this system because it is very fast and extremely reliable when it comes to unlocking the laptop. For this task we can also use the fingerprint reader that is to the right of the touchpad, whose operation has also been good and reliable, although we prefer the facial system.

Battery just good

The battery of the HP Specter x360 is 60 Wh, whose behavior has been good, but not spectacular, allowing us to reach the end of the day more or less comfortable.

We have carried out a test with the brightness at 60%, connected via WiFi and browsing, seeing the occasional email, social networks and some Word with a result close to7 hours and a half autonomy.

When subjected to a more intense test where the brightness was still at 60%, connected by Wi-Fi and continuously streaming movies, the laptop said enough after somewhat less of 6 hours.

The charging times have seemed more than correct since we charged the battery from 0 to 100% in just under 2 hours.

At the time of writing this article we still do not know the price at which this HP Specter x360 aw-0004xx is launched, but if it does not shoot at exaggerated rates it will become a very interesting option for all those users they need in a laptop that is extremely well built, compact and powerful

We thought it was a great job exceptional by HP, since they have been able to include originality and quality in a set that is small and manageable, combining all this with the power of performance and graphics of this Spectre x360.
