Google is revamping its products and adding new features. One of the best apps the Mountain Viewers have is the App Store is Google Maps and seems to have added a new feature for iOS.
Many of the users of an iDevice leave aside the native application in iOS, Maps, and use the one from Google, since it works really well and is always up to date. Also, we can even see the traffic in real time, which is really nice.
Google adds Night Mode to Google Maps on iOS
Google has updated its version of Google Maps for iOS adding several improvements. One of those improvements is the night mode that darkens the screen during the night, something very important when we are driving since the brightness is very annoying and distracting.
Until now users have worked around the problem by lowering the brightness of the screen, but it seems that now Google has gone further and added this mode to its navigation application.
The app automatically switches to night mode when it is night time, so there is no physical button to change the mode. We will have to wait until night to try it.
Other new features in Google Maps for iOS
Google Maps now also allows you to tag places with custom names and view them directly on the map. Now we can also see the search suggestions and edit the titles of the photos published in Street View among other things.
It seems that these new features have not yet reached Android for some reason, but surely they will be added to the green android operating system soon.
