We have already seen similar cases on social networks with brands like Zara or Mercadona, as reported by the security firm Kaspersky. If we receive an event of this type, even if it comes from a friend, we should ignore it.
With the hook of Facebook's virality and that we normally trust the recommendations of friends, the scam is achieving the objective of enchanting users. In addition, the event has the title “RayBan charity event-annual sale, from €29.96!”.
Specifically, offers of Ray-Ban signature glasses are offered through a link indicated in the text of the event. If we click on it we find a website that imitates the official one or a distributor and that, of course, will ask us for our payment details.
If we enter the payment details, cybercriminals will be able to charge our account and not send us any glasses Therefore, if we have fallen into this scam we must contact our bank or PayPal, in this case, to protect ourselves against this purchase.
