As you may already know, the world's most popular hacker community, Anonymous, has declared war on ISIS. So far attacks on the terrorist group's recruiting pages and social media profiles have been the targets of Anonymous, but now it appears the group needs help for something bigger and they have announced a new phase in which they will attract a greater number of hackers adept at the cause, it is not yet clear for what purpose.
Until now Anonymous's movements have been protest and it has collaborated with the fight against terrorism against Daesh removed numerous profiles from social networks and recruitment web pages, although you could be organizing something bigger.
Anonymous returns to the charge against ISIS
Earlier this week, the hacker group Anonymous released a new message to its supporters, calling for a global collaboration to find Daesh members on social media and "troll" them. The objective is to demonstrate that the group of hackers is not afraid of them and that they will continue their cyber war against violence.
Anyone can help the cause by uploading photos or videos against ISIS on social media, as well as using the hashtags Daesh and Dashbagsto demonstrate their rejection of the terrorist movement.
"Let's make fun of them", "let's show them what they really are" or "they don't stand by a religion". These are some among many other phrases that we have read in your new ad.
It is not yet known on what scale Anonymous can act against ISIS, but what is clear is that protest and propaganda which they do puts more and more pressure on the terrorist group. We'll see where they go.
