One of the big problems of brands that manufacture printers like HP, is being able to have a short and medium-term profitability. One of the great livelihoods are the original ink cartridges which help the business not to decline.
HP is very clear about it and programmed its printers to that on September 13 all its printers stopped working with non-original cartridges.
Private brands know that printer inks are a great business because of the high price of the original ones, a great business of which they have set up even specialized franchisesto take advantage of it, but HP is not in it.
HP creates controversy with its printers

HP wants to completely eradicate compatible ink cartridges with their printers, they know that when the courtesy cartridge is used up, users they will go directly to buy one that is compatible due to its low price.
HP hides behind the fact that its inks cost more money because their performance is greater as well as the quality, something that does not convince the ordinary user who only seeks quality at a good price.
On September 13th, the HP forums were embroiled in the controversy of why their printers stopped working with the following message "Cartridge problem. The following ink cartridges appear not to be detected or to be Replace ink cartridges to continue printing" when some were practically brand new.
After a few exchanges of messages, users realized that everyone was using compatible cartridges and that the error messages appeared on the same day, something that made us suspect that HP programmed the firmware of its printers to stop acting en masse on the same day, without distinction.
The controversy is served because there are customers who believe they have already paid for the product and can do whatever they want with it, if they do not want to use original inks they are within their rightsince they have paid for the product.
On the other hand we find detractors who think that original inks give more reliability to prints and maintenance of printers. The fact is that the controversy is served.
Years ago there was a similar controversy when it was revealed that printers were programmed to print a series of pages and stop working without apparent explanation. Now that it seemed that everything was calmer, HP appears to cut its losses with non-original cartridges.
What do you think, are you for or against being able to use compatible inks?
