Although it is something that had been rumored for a long time, it will finally come true in a short time. Coming soon Facebook will update and notify users when news is hoax or false.
This means that users will have the ability to know which of the news they read on their Facebook wall are false thanks to the fact that a notice will appear informing them of said fact. This will allow the spread of hoaxes through the social network.
Fake posts will appear less
When a Facebook post is deemed to be a hoax, it will automatically will fade into the background and appear fewer times than other posts. Even if they stop appearing with the same frequency, you will always know if it is rigorous or not.
But, how exactly do we know when a piece of news is false or a hoax? Well, according to Facebook, the publications will add a warning with a red danger icon indicating that said publication may have false content.
And it is that users can also report those publications that they suspect may be a hoax through the "report" option. To all the options available up to now (it's a spa, it shouldn't be on Facebook, etc.), we now add a call “it's a fake story” or Similary.
In this way, any user who suspects a publication can report it, which will then be analyzed by Facebook and determine whether or not it is indeed a hoax, causing the warning that we mentioned above to appear and reducing the frequency of appearance.
This new measure will help curb false postings on Facebook and therefore will gradually end them, although possibly It took a long time to clean the social network of this type of content.
What do you think of this new functionality that Facebook will add soon?
