Xiaomi is the most popular "Chinese brand" of smartphones, excluding those that have left China and made the leap to the international market. The idea of Xiaomi launching an Android One phone together with Google sounds very interesting, because it would mean using a version of Android "pure", away from Xiaomi's deep customizations.
The model that would receive an edition within the Android One program would be the recent Xiaomi Mi5X, which we have already met, and it is a good example of how to bring the dual camera to the mid-range. According to the leaks, it would seek to offer a variant with a lower price than the Xiaomi Mi5X, although the changes it would undergo compared to the original have not been disclosed.
The Android Oneprogram guarantees participating smartphones fast operating system updates, insured for 2 years. Initially, it was aimed at emerging markets, but in Spain we received the BQ Aquaris A4.5 a while ago, and it is rumored that an Android One could arrive in the United States.
Xiaomi would be an excellent partner for Google, since it has always stood out for its quality devices at very reasonable prices. It uses the MIUI customization layer, which radically modifies the appearance of Android. It cannot be denied that it is a good layer, but it is very much geared towards Chinese tastes, and many users would like to enjoy pure Android on Xiaomi

For now there are hardly any details of the agreement between Xiaomi and Google regarding Android One. Xiaomi does not sell its smartphones in the international market, it focuses on China and, recently, also on India. Many people buy their phones in import stores, and it is clear that a Xiaomi Mi5X with Google's "stock" Android would be a success, in addition to the updates always matter.
Meanwhile, Google will bet on the Pixel family in its high-end, probably with HTC and LG as collaborating manufacturers. But if it is confirmed that Xiaomi and Google launch a smartphone based on Android One, surely it will achieve a lot of success in the mid-range of the Chinese manufacturer.
What do you think about the idea? Does a Xiaomi phone fit into Android One, or do you not think that Google will accept this collaboration?
