Telefónica is present, for yet another year, at the MWC and at today's press conference they come to show us the next Internet speed. Telefónica continues moving towards the future and this time with 5G speed.
We are facing a new Internet revolution, greater speed thanks to Telefónica, with which we will be able to adapt to current times. 5G will be a reality soon and Telefónica is already working on it, in fact they are already carrying out tests.
The company is preparing 5G with network slicing and virtualized network. These are two important aspects for an important deployment of this network to take place, which have been included in its Telco Cloud-UNICA platform.

Virtualized network to offer 5G
Regarding 5G technology, Telefónica is a pioneer and they have been developing a project for more than 5 years that seeks an infrastructure that allows solutions such as Network Slicingto deal with services that require different capacities on a single infrastructure.
Telefónica conceives 5G as a constantly evolving technology that requires a strong base of constant development. To face the reality of 5G, the company works in its own laboratories and carries out tests, which have taken place during 2017.
Telefónica's idea is not to offer 5G, period, but the goal is for customers to have smartphones that go faster than what's going on now, apart from increasing radio capacity and features with greater bandwidth.

Where 5G will truly be different from what we know today is not in broadband capacity, or broadband features and technology, but in future technology.
Movistar's 5G consists of a highly flexible and open software technology that will be built upon by Telefónica and others operators will be able to provide services to end customers.
The 5G proposal is quite advanced; have used the 5G spectrum in the 43 band, which offers full connectivity to all the demonstrations that have taken place at the stand, all carried out using "slices " network from the virtualized network, which have enabled the following:
- Virtual Reality: Thanks to 5G and the bandwidth it offers, ultra-low latency is achieved that allows the reproduction of virtual objects in real time without problems.

- Augmented reality: the ability offered by 5G to transmit video in real time.
- Emergency services: 5G could be used as a means of public safety service due to service availability.
We see how Telefonica's 5G technologies continue to be developed, which will offer many very interesting possibilities in the future, where we will have speeds of much higher connection and multiple advantages.
