Experts continue to affirm that there is no risk of contagion from coronavirus if we attend the MWC 2020, but there are already several companies, like Sony, who take a step back and decide to put the safety of their workers first.
The inertia that has caused the abandonment, or the decision not to attend the MWC 2020 because of the coronavirus, of brands such as LG, Amazon, ZTE, Nvidia, etc. makes the shadow of abandonment weigh on the heads of other companies.
What was most striking was that LG canceled everything it had planned in Barcelona, then ZTE canceled its press conference, Nvidia also backed down, even Amazon.
Fear and public alarm make us even think that they are waiting until the last minute to cancel the fair, but we can say little about this, except that for the moment everything continues as if nothing were happening, but it is true that it happens, especially when a top-level company like Sony decides not to go to MWC 2020.
In the official statement, Sony explains that it has closely followed the evolution of the coronavirus, and even puts the date on which the WHO established the global emergency due to the virus that emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Sony claims that they attach "importance to the safety and well-being of our customers, partners, media and employees." This is why so they decide not to attend Barcelona and close all the conferences and events they had planned.
Before finalizing the statement, they explain that the press conference is still on, but that it will be followed through their YouTube channel at 8:30 am on February 24, 2020.
The Japanese company closes the statement thanking them for their support and understanding for the decision they have been forced to make.
And now the doubt falls like a jug of cold water. There are just over 2 weeks left before the MWC 2020 begins and opinion is divided between those who believe that it should be canceled and those who nip the social alarm at the root and support the continuity of the fair as normal.
