Samsung has confirmed the arrival in Spain of new televisions from the The Sero, The Serif ranges and The Frame, models in which as important as visual quality is their careful design and their integration into the home.
In fact, Samsung includes them in the "lifestyle" segment, since they do not have the usual technological appearance in gray and silver tones of standard televisions, but have been conceived in a very peculiar way, for decorate while viewing content
Those who are only looking for technology will prefer the new Samsung QLED 8K and 4K, which are also coming to Spain, with less emphasis on their external appearance and more cutting-edge hardware inside.
The Sero is the biggest novelty, a model introduced a few months ago, with a screen capable of rotating from portrait to landscape format. In The Serif and The Frame we also find novelties, which we are going to review:
The Sero
Samsung has created The Sero thinking that more and more content is recorded in a vertical, mobile-oriented format. We can turn 90 degrees, to see it both in a traditional 16:9 panoramic, or vertically.
The Sero is a 43-inch TVwith a 4.1 speaker system delivering 60 watts of power Through its mobile app it will be easy to send video from the mobile, and it will also be possible to control it by voice using Bixby as an assistant
Although at first it seemed that The Sero was going to be closer to an experiment than a commercial product, in the end Samsung launches it in Europe, so you must have seen interest from consumers.
The Serif
For its part, The Serif is a range where the tendency to reduce the bezels of the screen is left aside. The frames of The Serif are wide and have a striking profile, in Cloud White and Cotton Blue, the work of designers Roman and Erwan Bouroullec.
Thanks to its metallic support we can place it in the center of the room, putting the cables through the legs so that they go unnoticed. Instead of turning it off, it is possible to use the ambient mode of The Serif and have it display a series of decorative patterns.
At a technical level, use a 43, 49 or 55-inch QLED 4K panel to improve the image, it is compatible withHDR10+ , a new color system, and allows content to be received from Apple devices thanks to support for AirPlay 2
In addition, The Serif can be controlled with the voice assistants Bixby, Alexa or Google Assistant, and it even has NFC technology to easily link it to the mobile.
The Frame
The Frame is the range of designer televisions that Samsung has been marketing for the longest time. Their goal is to go through paintings when we're not using them, and for this they include a large gallery with works of artto display in ambient mode.
By the year 2020 two new sizes of 32 inches and 75 inches will be available to purchase in , so they can be adapted to any room domestic. They use 4K QLED panels, with a One Connect base that connects to the display via a nearly transparent cable.
The Frame allows you to interchange the different colored frames, to suit each room like a real painting, and also offers an optional tripod. By integrating a light sensor, the brightness of the television adjusts to each environment and time of day.
MicroLED TVs up to 292 inches
Samsung's bet for large formats is MicroLED technology, which allows a better contrast, since a large number of LEDs allow Turn off dark areas of the picture completely, similar to LG's OLED panels.
Instead, Samsung opts for modular televisions, made up of several panels, which are joined without bezels between them. You can create compositions outside the usual 16:9 ratio, and choose sizes from 75 to 292 inches.
Samsung is already committed to MicroLED for the home, although the technology is still very new, so it will take time for most users to see it in our living room.
