Security breaches are a common occurrence today, due to the number of services we use on the Internet. Now, a study reveals which has been the operating system with the most security flaws, including those found within mobile phones such asAndroid or iOS as on computers Windows or Mac OS.
Today, the operating systems that we carry both on our mobile phones and on our computers are updated almost daily to try to shield us from to be safe in the face of a cyberattackand thus avoid possible extortion due to data theft and subsequent sale of the data.
Android, like Windows, has always been accused of being less secure operating systems than iOS and Mac OS. This saying is became popular because hackers and cybercriminals focused on creating viruses targeting Android or Windows, because they had a higher chance of infecting a computer mainly due to the few sales that both had regarding both Apple mobiles and computers compared to Windows computers and Android mobiles.
A study has published data on which operating systems had the most vulnerabilities from 1999 to 2019 and during 2019. The The list from 1999 to 2019 was headed by Debian Linux, followed by Android. A little further down, we can find Mac OS X and iOS.

The study also shows Windows 7 and Windows 10 from the middle of the list to the back so we can say, that in between 1999 and 2019, it was more sure iOS than Android and Windows more than Mac OS X. In the study there is also room for well-known browsers or programs such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Adobe Acrobat, in which we also see a significant number of security breaches.
In 2019, the study shows quite different data compared to the previous table. The list is headed by Android, whose operating system has shown the most vulnerabilities over the past year,Curiously, several versions of Windows appear on the list, such as 7, 8.1, 10… Debiam Linux, which topped the list from 1999 to 2019, is in second place.
In this second table, no Apple operating system such as iOS or Mac OS X is shown, which means that last year Mac OS and iOS were systems safer operating systems than Windows in the case of computers and Android in terms of mobile phones last year.
As we have mentioned before, the study has also compiled more information about the programs with the most vulnerabilities over 20 years, from 1999 to 2019. In the list, several programs are shown, such as Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office… among others.
What really calls the attention of the second part of this study is that it shows that iTunes and WatchOS, a tool and the Apple Watch operating system were two of the services that had a higher probability of failure in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability according to the CVSS scoring system, which offers them a score of 7 out of 10 for services that are not very secure or are more likely to have security flaws.

There are many operating systems, however, as we can see, vulnerabilities have been corrected more in Apple's operating systems compared to Android or Windows. On the other hand, in the list, there are different versions of Linux and it is that cybercriminals will always attack those operating systems that have more users.
First of all, we must be calm, since our terminals tend to have, more and more, security updates.
What do you think of the study? Do you prefer iOS or Android?
