WhatsApp is preparing a new function that will allow delete messages automatically, that is, we can send messages that self-destruct when the time that we have previously indicated passes.
This function is under development, although there are those who can see it in the WhatsApp beta. Through WABetaInfo, we have learned about the future plans of the messaging app par excellence.
The new function that WhatsApp will include in the coming weeks is very reminiscent of another function of its most direct competitor, Telegram. This last app that we have named has secret chats that allow self-destruction of messages.
In the same way, WhatsApp wants to bring self-destruction or automatic deletion of messages to private chats.
But this isn't really new, as it's something that was talked about a while ago, but never made official. It seems that now the company has considered it important again and has decided to finish what it started.
Anyway, that feature is back, and will allow the user, to choose when they want sent messages to be deleted:

It is true that in Telegram there are more self-destruct options, since it allows us to automatically delete messages after at least 10 seconds. While WhatsApp, and according to this capture, gives at least 1 hour.
The self-destruction time will be off by default, until the user indicates the life time he wants to give to those messages. Let's not forget to turn it off when we no longer need that function, otherwise we will lose everything without realizing it.
It has not been specified if the automatic deletion will reach iOS, Android, only one of them, or both operating systems simultaneously. Is very soon to know it.
We hope this time is the final one and we can set a timer for the messages we send in privateconversations WhatsApp , so that will be automatically deleted.
