Table of contents:
Nokia 8.3 5G is presented as the new smartphone from the Finnish firm, a smartphone that combines a 5G connectivity capable of working in any country in the world with the pure Android that is already common in the manufacturer's mobile phones.
This is a large smartphone, with a 6.81-inch FHD+ screen, which reduces the bezels, but not to the level of other current high-end. The 24 MP selfie camera is embedded in a hole in the panel, in the upper left corner.
The processor is a Snapdragon 765G, in charge of providing it with 5G connectivity, and which is supported by 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, while the storage is 64 GB or 128 GB.
The Nokia 8.3 5G bets on a quad camera, placed in a central module that protrudes from the back of the phone. The main sensor is a 64 MP, with 2.8 μm pixels to capture plenty of light for night photography.
A 12 MP wide-angle sensor will cover more elements in the scenes that require it (panoramic landscapes, large groups…), and a 2 MP macro will take care of close shots, just a few inches from the subject.
The fourth sensor, also 2 MP, is dedicated to measuring depth for bokeh or portrait mode, so there's no camera dedicated to zooming for photos from afar.
Nokia continues to bet on pure Android, hardly customizing Google's operating system. In the Nokia 8.3 5G we have Android 10, forming part of the Android One program, which guarantees 2 years of major updatesand 3 years of security patches.

Nokia 8.3 5G, price and availability
The Nokia 8.3 5G will go on sale early summer 2020, without a specific date yet, and in principle everything points to what will come to Spain. It will be sold in Polar Night, a combination of blue tones.
You can choose between two versions, with the following prices for each one:
- 6 GB of RAM + 64 GB of storage for 599 euros.
- 8 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage for 649 euros.
The Nokia 8.3 5G is an interesting terminal, although its price of 599 euros makes it to miss a 90 Hz screen or a camera with optical zoom, which many competitors in its price range already integrate.
It will be necessary to check if its commitment to pure Android and global 5G makes up for it, although in any case the Nokia 8.3 5G confirms that the Finnish brand is still willing to gain a foothold among smartphone manufacturers.
