Coronavirus is the pandemic that stalks the world. Technology offers different solutions for each situation. In this case, in China they are using glasses equipped with artificial intelligence and a thermal camera to know if people have a fever in real time.
China was the country where the spread of the coronavirus began. Although the main focus was on Wuhan, the Chinese government decided to install thermal cameras with facial recognition in public places such as airports or train stations to detect if someone is find sick.
In other areas of China, security guards are beginning to wear artificial intelligence goggles with facial recognition and a thermal camera to thus alert the staff if any of the citizens who are in the park have symptoms of coronavirus.
Although the appearance of these glasses is relatively conventional, they are not normal glasses since the left arm incorporates the camera that protrudes and has wiring.
The glasses would be able to alert security personnel instantly and recognize the individual's face. The company that has been in charge of developing and manufacturing this type of glasses focused on public he alth is called Rokid.
In China facial recognition in public places is really widespread. It is one of the most repeated debates in other parts of the world because it limits the privacy and freedom of citizens. However, in China a user uploaded a photo of these smart glasses and received, in a short time, more than 7,000 likes and multiple positive comments.
At the moment, is a product that is only being used in China, although according to what they say, they may consider exporting of this type of product to other parts of the world to facilitate control of the pandemic.
