No, we are not making anything up, we can put filters on all the photos we want to upload to WhatsApp. In addition, putting the filters is very simple, only 2 steps are enough to improve our photos.
We know very well that we can put filters on photos on Instagram, either within the app or before uploading it to the social network (with external apps), but what few people know is that they also we can share photos with filters on WhatsApp, either in conversations (individual or in groups), or upload them to WhatsApp States.
Put filters on a photo and share in a WhatsApp chat
As we say, putting filters on the photos that we are going to share on WhatsApp is very easy, also, when we say photos, we are not just referring to a selfie, or a photo of a landscape, or a photo group, but anything, even a screenshot or a photo of a document:
- We open the chat where we are talking and to which we want to send the image.
- Click on the clip-shaped icon and then on "Gallery".

- Once inside the gallery, we look for the photo we want to share. We select it and before sending it, we notice that the following text "Slide up for filters" appears below.
- Now we see thumbnails of our photo with each and every one of the filters that WhatsApp offers us.

- For more inri, apart from putting filters, we can put stickers, text, draw with your finger, crop the photo, etc.

- When we already have the photo edited, with its filters, its text, its stickers and everything, we can add a comment, or send it directly.
Put filters on the photos of the States
As we can see, it is a quick and simple process when sharing a photo in a WhatsApp chat, but if what we want is to upload a photo to the States of WhatsApp and put filters on it before sharing it, then you have to follow these steps:
- Enter WhatsApp and click on the tab "States".

- Click on "My Status" and the camera opens. Either we take a photo at that moment, or we search the gallery.
- Whichever option is chosen, before sending it gives us the option to put filters on it.
- We swipe up and our photo appears in thumbnails with each and every one of the filters.
