Retro video game fever returns with Game Gear Micro, a reissue of Sega's portable console that adopts an ultra-compact size, but maintaining the original design of the 1990 machine.
Game Gear Micro appeals to gamers' nostalgia, even though many of them may not have owned the original. The Game Gear was a commercial failure compared to Nintendo's Game Boy, in part because its attractive color screen made it more expensive and consumed batteries much faster.
The Game Gear Micro has been announced for now only in Japan, in a somewhat debatable collectible format. There will be 4 colors for the console, each with different games, no new titles can be added later.
The dimensions of the notebook are really small, just 8 x 4.3 x 2 cm. Although the Mega Drive Mini was already small, in this case we are talking about a size that would allow it to be used as a key ring.
Black

It is the original color of the Sega Game Gear, which includes the mythical Sonic the Hedgehog, and the also well-known Out Run (a racing game). Puyo Pop 2 is a puzzle game, while Royal Stone is a Japanese rum game that didn't make it to the West.

- Puyo Pop 2 (Puyo Puyo 2).
- Royal Stone.

The yellow Game Gear Micro includes the third installment of the puzzle game Puyo and three role-playing games from the Shining saga, yes They reached Europe and the United States, but without being too well known.

- Shining Force: Final Conflict.
- Nazo Puyo: Arle no Roux.
Blue

Regarding the blue Game Gear Micro, it brings the mythical shooting game Gunstar Heroes. Developed by Treasure, and Sonic & Tails. Unfortunately, Baku Baku and Sylvan Tale are titles that didn't make it out of Japan back in the day.
- Gunstar Heroes.
- Sonic & Tails.
- Baku Baku.
- Sylvan Tale.
Red

On the red Game Gear Micro, it brings the well-known puzzle of Columns and an adaptation of Shinobi , the action adventure starring a ninja. Also two role-playing games from the Megami Tensei saga, although at the time the name was changed to Revelations: The Demon Slayer.
- Columns.
- The G. G. Shinobi.
- Revelations: The Demon Slayer (Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible).
- Revelations: The Demon Slayer Special (Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special).
Each unit will be sold for 5,478 yen (about 45 euros to change), and the pack with the 4 colors will cost29,980 yen (about 245 euros to change).
This last pack will include a magnifying glass to connect to the screen, which imitates the accessory released in its day for Game Gear with the aim of improving visualization.

The Game Gear Micro idea can work well in Spain and the rest of the world, as mini consoles are quite popular. However, maybe for international markets it is necessary to change the games included, or directly launch a single edition of the laptop with all the titles.
While "mini" consoles like the PlayStation Classic have been flops, the Game Gear Micro nostalgia could win over gamers if They make some improvements for the international launch, which is not confirmed for now.
